Ontario - Increase Funding for Hearing Aids Now!

It’s been 40 years since the Ministry of Health’s Assistive Devices Program (ADP) started grants for hearing aids. And it’s been 30 years since the grant amount has been increased.
The cost of hearing aids has escalated in that time due to increased use of high-end technology – which delivers better results and more compliance with wearing prescribed hearing aids. Hearing aids are medical equipment necessary to make the world accessible to those with hearing loss.

It’s time for the Ontario government to increase the grant from ADP to support those with hearing loss. Not only will you be helping those with hearing loss but you may also reduce healthcare spending for dementia and serious falls – both of which are strongly connected to hearing loss.
I ask you to support increasing the ADP grant for hearing aids immediately.

Funding for Hearing Aids in Ontario

The London-St.Thomas Chapter of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons - CARP, is spearheading a local advocacy campaign on behalf of all Ontarians.

There is a pressing need for increased financial support for those requiring hearing aids, the majority of whom are seniors.

Prices increases have put these devices out of reach for many older adults on fixed incomes.

Please sign this petition, which will be shared with Ontario Members of Provincial Parliament, calling on them to take action and increase the grant amounts available for hearing aids, through the Assistive Devices Program.

Thank you,

Gloria McKibbin
Volunteer Chair,
CARP London - St. Thomas Chapter
